Finding Beauty in Transformation:
The Art of Erica Soskin

First Place Winner
“Art Without Limits”

The Exhibition Collective is proud to announce Erica Soskin as the First Place Winner of the inaugural Art Without Limits exhibition.

Selected from a diverse field of talented artists, Soskin’s deeply personal oil painting, I Cradle You, captivated the jury with its emotional honesty, technical skill, and powerful exploration of healing through adversity. The work embodies the spirit of Art Without Limits—art that transcends boundaries, speaks to universal human experiences, and invites meaningful connection.

Born and raised in New York City, Soskin’s artistic journey began at an early age. Surrounded by the rich cultural landscape of the city, she studied art as a child at The Metropolitan Museum of Art and later continued private instruction throughout her teenage years. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Binghamton University in 1999 before relocating to New Mexico, where she pursued studies in Art Education at the University of New Mexico. In 2005, she received a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Southwestern College in Santa Fe.

Throughout her career, Soskin has worn many hats—artist, educator, counselor, and advocate for emotional expression through creativity. She has taught art to children and incorporated artistic practices into her work as a licensed clinical counselor and school counselor. Today, living in Albuquerque, New Mexico, she dedicates herself fully to her artistic practice.

Her work has recently been featured in numerous national and international exhibitions, including exhibitions with Biafarin, Laguna Gallery, Exhibizone, MVA Gallery, and the upcoming Santa Fe Art Show Marketplace. Yet despite her growing exhibition history, receiving First Place in Art Without Limits holds a special significance.

“I have never been chosen as first place,” Soskin explains. “I have always considered myself a bit different, non-conforming, and an outsider in many ways. I celebrate being chosen with feelings of sheer joy and reverence.”

That sense of being an outsider—and ultimately finding meaning through personal transformation—lies at the heart of her winning work.
